According to a strategy of evolution toward the InterCloud Exchange, since the beginning of 2011 TOP-IX also introduced the possibility of interconnection between IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) Clouds. Interconnection is available for members that have a public IaaS price list.

Interoperability is achieved through the configuration of logical Level 2 connections on the same technology platform that provides peering services.

The service includes the supply of different ports from those used for the exchange of IP traffic. Available port speeds are:

• 1 Gbps
• 10 Gbps

TOP-IX on those ports configures a private VLAN that would allow the interconnection requested, withou any access to the public peering VLAN, the route servers and other tools normally available.
